We're in Laos now. Love it! Just finished 3 day trekking trip to the ethnic villages outside of Luang NamTha (Northern Laos).

What downriver trip are you referring to, Auntie? The Huay Xai to Luang Prabang along the Mekong? Or another one?

We don't want to backtrack to Huay Xai, plus it seems there's a load of people along that route (Huay Xai to Luang Prabang on Mekong). If it's another river trip, please do tell! Would love to give it a go...

Not been in northern Laos for ages. One river trip I do remember is down the Nam Ou from Nong Khiaw/ Muang Ngoi, just a couple of hours out of Muang Xai. Post the question in a separate thread if you don't get more details. Enjoy!
