Hi from Italy, does anybody have been at Khongsavath Guesthouse in Luang Prabang? At the moment it's the only available guesthouse I found in LP for Christmas period; I got very few info about it, even if it sounds a good place. Thanks a lot
Laura

I do not know that GH. However, I am sure there are MANY GH in LP with availabilty during Christmas. Just not the big ones that take reservations on the internet.

Just to add to #1: if a guesthouse can't take reservations from you, they can't take them from anyone else, either: they are just relying on people turning up when vacancies occur. That's probably MOST guesthouses in LP. So, you can almost always find somewhere tolerable for the night, even if you turn up late, then look around the next morning.

Ms. Lamarce, Did you try the Residence de Phou Vao at just under $400 a night they might have rooms left.

Thank you to everybody, I managed to find a room at VILLA LAO WOODENHOUSE, looks nice (a few rooms, usd 45 for dbl room with breakfast, bathroom with hot shower, etc.). I guess I can find a guesthouse once I'll get there, but I would like to avoid hanging around in LP searching for a place to stay...it's peak season unfortunately!
ciao! Laura
lamarce-Villa is great location. $45 is bit much for guesthouse in LP, but take what you can get for now.
Somsai-indeed Residence de Phou Vao is a very nice place, I used their swimming pool often when in LP. $400 is over priced and no Pah-dek serve. :)

Thank you Hacky, yes I can find cheaper ones, but as we are two persons we share the cost, and considering the good exhange rate Euro/Usd, at the end it's good value, furthermore we are almost 50 years (!), so a nice room and bath is greatly appreciated! Phou Vao yes IS SUPEREXPENSIVE, too much..
