Hi dear friends on this forum, I plan to take three weeks off in Jan/Feb 2014. Hope to spend 10-12 days in Mynmar, and then a couple days in LP (Laos). I have been to Thailand, so do not plan to spend much time there. I know this schedule could be a bit agressive. But I really want to experience LP (laos). Have been doing some research, and wondering if someone here has some insights in the flights:

1) plan to take Air Asia from Mynmar to Bangkok, then fly from Bangkok to LP (seems no direct flight from Mynmar to LP)
2) After spend a couple of days in LP, either fly to Chiang Mai (if I have another two days to spend in my trip, I've been to Chiang Mai, and really like it) or directly back to Bangkok.

Seems I have travel to find any reasonal fares. Do you folks have any suggestions? Thanks a lot

From Bangkok to Luang Prabang, you could consider Thai Smile.
From Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai, Lao Airlines is the only non-stop option, AFAIK.

Thai Smile doesn't fly Bangkok to Luang Prabang. If you don't need to get back to Bangkok, you can reach Luang Prabang and back via Chiang Mai.

Thai Smile doesn't fly Bangkok to Luang Prabang.

...but it'll make it on the OP travel dates as they are going to start to fly that route on mid December 2013.
