Day Inn Hotel Vientiane

I stayed there for 2 nights this last February.
Room was very large and scrupulously clean with adjoining sitting room and well-functioning AC.
Staff was helpful, good English spoken and food was good to excellent.
It is within walking distance of morning market and South bus station.

It is about 3-5 minutes walk from Nam Phu and waterfront.
Quiet but quite a step up from guesthouse ghetto.

If this is your first time in VT (as it was mine) and you like Indian food, try Taj Mahal.
Best Internet Access is just around the corner of TH Samsenai. Hotel Internet is expensive.

I found the Voyakorn GH a great value for $12. Wood floors, AC/TV, huge bathrooms, nice cafe in lobby, and steps from the main attractions, Mekong river front, shopping and cafes.

thanks guys....just arrived. this place is great! just enjoying the mekong full moon festival and ate chicken on a stick for 25 cents!
