Just got my tickets. It is now possible to fly Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia to Vientiane, Laos with AirAsia. Starting 1st December 2007.
I have been waiting for close to two months now since their announcement.
There is a promotional fare now, RM39.99 (US$11.50) without fees & charges one way. This promo fare is available between 22nd Oct till 28th Oct for flying between 1st Dec 2007 to 29 Mar 2008.
I have just book my ticket (return) for 2 pax at RM542, US$155 in December. Yippee... I am packing my bags already... I am so so happy...
They fly 3 times a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
KL-Vientiane. AK 812. Depart 09.05, Arrive 10.40
Vientiane-KL. AK 813. Depart 11.10, Arrive 14.45

The flights I book was both weekdays (Thursday & Tuesday), didn't booked any weekend flights. Hence, RM39.99.
BTW, I would like to know if it is correct that Malaysian citizens do not need visa to enter Laos. I tried calling the Lao PDR embassy here in KL and they said no need to. Is this correct? Any Malaysians with this experience?
