(This is kind of cross-posted on the middle east branch)
Hi everyone! Please don't harass me for asking this, but I'm hoping to give my mother a little peace of mind with regards to my upcoming expeditions in South East Asia and my own cockiness isn't much of an assurance for her at the moment. She has friends who have spent time living and working in Cambodia, and the stories they tell seem to indicate that Cambodia is not a safe place for a solo 27 year old kiwi chick to be wandering through…
Hi,
My original plans were to Island hop up from Penang (Malaysia) to Koh Lantra and from there take the necessary route to mainland Thailand, however as its still a bit rainy, I'm now planning on heading from Penang to Kanchanaburi to Bangkok, then into Cambodia (my main reason for visiting is Angkor Wat, but I'd love some more suggestions of what to see in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh) and then do the Khao Sok National Park and the islands on the return leg back to KL......
Would really appreciate…
Hello all,
It happend to work out that we will be in Siem Reap for the Bon Um Tuk festival in Nov. I was just wondering if anyone had suggestions on what part of the city to stay in during this time or names of particular accomodations. Maybe something with a view of the river? I have never been to Siem Reap before so I am not familiar with the city nor have experienced the Bon Um Tuk festival. Mainly we are staying at low budget accomodations throughout our trip but we would be willing to…
Has anyone been to Queen Hill Resort (Otres beach)? How was it?
The two of us want to stay at a "lonely" beach in Sihanoukville. We were thinking of Queen Hill Resort.
All we want is a quiet and relaxed place.
Can you recommend it? Is it easy to reach?
Dear all,
after some serious sightseeing in Angkor we want to relax some days in the south around Kep or Sihanoukville. We are looking for a nice quit place in the 30-50 $ range.
we already checked out veranda resort but unfortunately it is already booked out.
Is there a similar place that you can recommend
thanks for any suggestions
Hi
Has anybody used this service? It almost seems too good to be true.
Thanks in advance
My wife and I will be spending a couple of days in Siem Reap next month. When we were in Vietnam we were able to get a great painting (definition one we like) for $US1500. Is there any galleries or shops in Siem Reap that sell moderately priced orignial cambodia art (up to $US2000). Have lonely planet guide but there is not very much about galleries.
Not looking for copies of western paintings nor antiques. Just pleasing quality cambodia art work.
Appreciate advice/suggestions.
I will be in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in early January. And recommendations for a good guide in either place? Thanks!
Charlotte
Also I forgot to add, wqould anyone recommend doing it by public bus??? We're thinking cheaper but arse cracking.
Which do yall prefer? We only have time to go to one so any advice about what you can do there, how expensive it is, etc. would be warmly welcomed.
Thanks, Kate
