I know this question has been asked but me and a friend are travelling to Cambodia and Vietnam and are wondering what malaria medicines should be taken. I have seen some people suggested Malarone for Cambodia and that bug repellent is enough for Vietnam. We will be travelling from South Vietnam (Saigon) to Cambodia and then to the North of Vietnam( Hanoi) through Vietnam. We are leaving arriving in Vietnam on the 10th of June 2014.
I am going to Siem Reap the first week of October for a few weeks. I just read in the Lonely Planet guide that "the town centre has been underwater for long periods in October during the past few years". I would like to book a place to stay within the next month so could anyone tell me which area in Siem Reap floods in so I can avoid booking a hotel there. Thanks.
A call for help! I'm looking for anyone with a photo of the old wax figurines of the UN Blue Beret with his arms around a bar girl from the Cambodian Cultural Village (circa 2004-2006). Hoping some of you more seasoned travellers can help me plan a trip to Cambodia for December 2014 as this is my first solo trip and first trip to SE Asia.
Maximum trip length is 14 days. Definite musts include PP and some beach action. I'm more into museums/history, craft markets and restaurants than I am into drinking and clubbing. Feeling pretty 'meh' about the temples - should they feature on my itinerary? What else.. I like tigers. I hate monkeys. So maybe some wildlife-y thing.

What is the best currency is it USD or Cambodian Riel? I take it that you can only get the Riel in Cambodia. Also we have to get our visa at the border or is it better to have this prior to leaving to save the hassle.

A depressingly long time ago my friend and I accepted the offer of a total stranger we met in the Royal Hotel to take us on a tour of the attractions surrounding Battambang. One of the places was a small fishing community en route from Battambang to Wat Ek Phnom. Going to Thailand/Cambodia in 10 days. I have a quick question about visa for Cambodia: are the e-visa and visa on arrival the same? I admit that I am kind of a sucker for visas/stamps so I am interested in having a visa in my passport as a souvenir. Do they glue the visa to the passport, or is it just a piece of paper I have to carry with me?

Hey everyone! This is my second trip to Thailand and Cambodia, first was 8 years ago, this one is for my honeymoon! :) Me and my husband are arriving in Bangkok early on the 3rd, and on the 4th want to go to Cambodia. We were thinking of possibly leaving on a bus later in the eve to save money, and just staying on the border in Aranyaprathet, but if there was anyone who was wanting to share a taxi with us to save costs that would be great as to possibly drive all the way to Siem Reap!
