Hi all !

Planning a quick trip to Cambodia around mid-October ! Hopefully the rains and floods will have slowed ! I will be landing in Siem Riep and think to spend around 3 days there exploring ! Then I want to go to Kampong Cham on the way to Phnom Penh ! Advices ? Boats going there or bus ? After PPenh maybe a quick peep to Sihanoukville. I have only 8 days to do all that ! What do you think guys !?

When I was in Cambodia in 2001 I went to a place that sold traditional Khmer shadow puppets and don't remember what it was called or where it was. There is nothing that I can find online. Has anyone else heard of this place? Name/address in Phnom Penh greatly appreciated.

Hello

We will soon be visiting Sihanoukville for three days. We are hoping to have a mix of partying and relaxing on the beach.

We are considering staying on Otres beach but would like to visit the town / livelier beaches in the evenings. Is it easy to get transport from Otres beach in the early evening and back to Otres beach late at night?

Thanks

Hello

We have an international flight home from Phnom Penh at 14:30 on a Sunday. The last part of our Cambodia trip will be in Kampot and we're wondering if it would be possible / wise to travel straight to the airport from Kampot on Sunday morning (or if it would be better to travel up on Saturday afternoon).

It looks like a private taxi takes about 3 hours so if we leave at 8am, this should get us to the airport with an hour or so to spare. Is it likely that delays (such as road conditions…

After several cancellations, some dithering and a political compromise the Cambodian govt. has decided that the boat races will be held this year. If you like boat races and huge crowds more than I do, this will be welcome news. For more info go to: http://phnompenhpost.com/national/after-four-years-water-festival-set-return

I ask this question in the Cambodia forum as I think it makes more sense here.

A friend is leaving this Sunday from Siem Reap for BKK. It turns out that the easiest transfer from the border Poipet to BKK and his hotel is a combination of bus and airport link.
The bus is the Rongklua Market - Airport - Ekkamai bus line. The number is 390.

Now the question: I could not find a schedule on the net. Anyone knows the departures times? This would be really helpful.
Perhaps if somebody has done this…

Hi,

I am a 23yo Australian female and I will be travelling around Cambodia/Vietnam and Thailand for a few months in December 2014 and would love any tips, advice, suggestions, favourite spots or to get in contact with anyone in the same boat wanting to hang out! My plan is to start in Siem Reap, and explore from there.

Elise :)

Hello fellow travellers,

I'll be going backpacking in South East Asia for about two months this October.
Was just wondering if anyone could help me? Based on your awesome experiences of South East Asia:

  • What are your favourite cities or towns to visit in Cambodia that you could recommend?

A little bit about me: Solo traveller, male, early 30s. Like a little party life, serenity, culture and sightseeing, good food and experiences.

Any other hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.
