I have the thread from yesterday above regarding 1-week & 1-month budget accommodation and over christmas stays. I am a lady traveling alone, slowly, for 6 months. I now ask for suggestions/advice on accommodation in Kampot. I am aiming at $15-$20 (with breakfast if possible but not necessary) 1-month stay from middle of Oct. to about middle (or end) of Nov., near or on river, near or in town, quiet. Would Kep be a better option? Thanks.

I have a few days lay over in Bangkok and have always wanted to visit Cambodia. Is it worth it to go just for 2 nights? I'd love to see the temples. Any suggestions?

I am going to be in Cambodia from October to April, a lady traveling alone. I am not planning on moving around the country quickly but, hopefully economically. I would like to know about what type of discount rates I might be able to be negotiated with budget hotels/guesthouses. I would appreciate information specifically on if I might expect to get a discount on one week and one month rates and what percentage of the daily rate could be negotiated. I am looking at budget accommodation on Agoda…

Hi,

We are a 59 and 61 yr olds travelling with our 18 yr old son. We fly into Bangkok on 27 Dec and fly out on 25 January. We are well acquainted with Thailand so we are thinking of travelling either to Laos or Cambodia. We are at the age now where we like to take things a bit more leisurely, absorb more, interact with people more etc. Also, past staying in the $20 a night places and like to have a reasonably comfortable mattress! So probably heading towards $70 to $100 a night. Happy to…

I think i wrote this post already but it doesnt seem to show so ill write it again. I just got back cambodia and met one of the greatest tuk tuk drivers there. His name was sunny and he was every bit of the definition. He showed me around all the places and asked me to name the price. He didnt care about the money but only to show me a good time. His friend was equally as charming and fun. PLEASE WHEN YOU GET TO CAMBODIA CALLL SUNNY. Hell be there on quickly and he loves to laugh. The…

I would greatly appreciate some advice on an itinerary for my first trip to Cambodia this December. I have done a lot of reading the forum and guidebooks but am still very divided about what I should do.

I am hoping to see a mix of cities, smaller towns, and either a more rural area or a quiet beautiful beach. I enjoy learning about local history and culture, walking and biking, visiting markets, exploring neighborhoods, walking tours, cooking classes, and snorkeling. Nightlife isn't a…

My visa expires in 2 days but I want to stay a few more weeks. Has anyone ever done a visa run from sihanoukville?

And how does this compare to getting an extension? The extension is quite expensive and I'll have to give up my passport for a week which I'm not too keen on.

Any advice?
