are there any in cambodia without paying companies an absolute fortune?? I'm travelling and would love to help out somewhere if I can.

There are a number of orphanages who are always looking for an extra pair of hands... my borther volunteered at this one for a month and was very impressed by their set up

I have been to the Lighthouse recommended in #1, and it is very good. In PP, you can also visit Cafe 151, 151 Sisowath, as they are linked to a good orphanage too.

I would suggest that you visit to 2 or 3 orphanages, and then decide which you would prefer. You will have a pretty good gut feeling within an hour of visiting any orphanage. You may wish to split your time, if you like all of them !

If you go with an organisation, you have to pay them, and you could be stuck at a place you do not like.

Lots, Ive never heard of any charging people to volunteer, unless people signed up abroad.
