Hi,
We'll be visiting Cambodia around Christmas this year.
Can anyone recommend some good accommodation in Sihanoukville? Since it's Christmas, we would like to stay in the better/more expensive hotel.
Any good places (value for money) or just other good recommendations for Christmas in Cambodia?

Coasters gets quite a few recommendations, haven't been there though. The Snake House Hotel seems interesting.

hi!i am currently in sihnaoukville.i am staying at banana republic guest house.i am paying five dollars for two single beds and a fan.i don't know how much you are willing to spend but this place is nice.the beach is a ten minute walk to get to.chiristmas might be more expensive being the high season.have fun.

Orchidee is a nice place with a pool, satalite t.v., breakfast included, large rooms, air-con etc but they are filled with European visitors throughout the Christmas holidays (Dutch Owner). It is my favourite place and for 15 bucks a night (in September), the best deal. You would have to book a room early for this hotel.

Orchidee is ok if you want to be woken up at 5 am by the owners kids running up and down the hallways, it is not very friendly and last time I was there the sewer was broken outside the hotel and running down the street. It is a long ways from any of the stuff going on around Golden Lions (where most of the bars and restaurants are) IMO there are much better places to stay for the money. Also it is used by a lot of tour groups. However they do pay great commissions to the motos and Tuk-Tuks for bringing you there...
Get a copy of the Sihanoukville Advertiser when you are there or go on line to the Canby publications site and take a look at what is available. If you want some suggestions I'll be happy to oblige in PM.
