Hi, hope someone can help?
I will be in siam rep in late july and want to take a boat from there to PP.
I read you can do this, however, does anyone have any updated info on how to do it, costs, options and times etc
I know it will be rainy season and there are different boat options but are keen to know more.
Or do you just advise the bus?
Cheers,
Lob

Mr lob,
I'll be doing the trip in early july, the other way..... PP to Siem reap (to see A Wat).
Send me your email and I'll let you know first hand when I've dope the trip.........

There is normally only one boat a day but they change the boat and do not use the same one each time. The boat leaves around 7am normally and takes around 6-7 hours in July if the water is not to low.
The boat has not been running every day though this month due to the water been to low so you will need to wait to see when you arrive in Siem Reap whether a boat is running or not.
The boat ticket is normally 25$ but you could try and get a discount.
I would advise the bus though as it cheaper and more reliable and a better trip.

The boat was very pleasurable for me and the bus is boring. Three huge outboard motors full throttle and the wind in your hair, checking out the houseboats and river life, the monasteries (once you get off of the lake). I have to sit on top of the boat though, I don't recommend sitting inside it at all. You can also ride in a pickup truck, which I do when I bring my motorcycle with me. The pickup is about $7.50 if you want the front seat to yourself without sharing. Shared taxi's are also available if you want to rub elbows with the locals.
