Hi,

can anyone help me with information about the mekong crossing from Vietnam to Cambodia. I've heard about it but I don't know how, where you do it.

Any info will be helpful, how long it takes, where you have to get the boat from and where it drops you off in Cambodia and how to get to pnom penh from there.

also can you get the cambodian visa on the river crossing???

thanks a million

You mean Chou Doc? Get a mini bus from Saigon to Chou Doc , you can get ticket from most hotels/ guesthouses in Saigon (about 6-7 hrs to chou doc from memory) stay a night in Chou Doc then boat from Chou Doc to Phnom Penh passenger terminal (riverside in Phnom Penh) boat takes a couple of hours and is comfortable fast boat. Avoid the tuk tuk and moto touts on arrival and walk directly across the road from the terminal for a good cheap agent for hotels etc (sky travel - #103 sisowath quay - and tell him steve wants a commission for giving him a mention ;))

And, no, I don't think visa on arrival is available on this route but I could be wrong.
