Night bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Two months I considered the same idea and people advised me against it. When I drove the road during day time I was very happy that I had NOT taken the night bus. The road repairs are extensive with unsecured excavations plus vehicles without light.
The bus hit at least once the breaks in an emergency (during day time).
I would not dismiss the dangers of this route at night. Even the best bus company can do very little when a fully loaded truck enters the equation.
As for comparisons with other routes, countries, references to statistics: It is really nonsense. The current condition of that route alone counts. It was good a few years ago, now it is in chaos.
