Hi! I would like to know if it's worth it to make the journey to Kampong Chhnang to see the floating village? Has anyone done it? What else can we do around this town? How much should cost the boat trip and what do we do exactly during this trip? Thank you so much!

I would suggest going a bit further north on the highway 5 to Krakor then turn off right in the town to Kampong Luang floating village. it doesn't get may foreign visitors, you can take a boat trip around and even stay in a floating guesthouse over night. Outside K. Chhnang there is is an old disused airbase to look round.

Hallo Charlotte

Regarding Kampong Chhang floating river - I think it depends on what you are looking for and what your expectations are. One can enjoy that kind of experience for days, while the other gets bored in 30 min. We've been there in 2008 and we paid 100 USD for hiring a boat for a day.

I enjoyed K. Chhnang in it's own right. Nice little town not many tourists easy to reach

I agree with "dog". I was totally alone there, and treated like royalty! They were so pleased to see me. It was a lovely trip.
