I will be in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in early January. And recommendations for a good guide in either place? Thanks!

We used a guide at the Royal Palace in PP. A number of quides wait around the entry and offer their services. Ours spoke excellent English and was very interesting - I think we paid him around $5 for the visit. I don't like going around with a guide generally but the tuktuk driver who waited outside our cheap hotel in Siem Riep was fairly informative and there were lots of people at different ruins - lots of graduates with excellent language skills generally. But on one hilarious occasion we got a keen footballer who was more interested in getting us to translate his footie mags than anything else. Most guesthouses will be able to put you in touch/recommend someone.
