Dear people. Have been in Cambodia for two weeks, so thought I'd write a few general bits, before we fly to Da Nang in Vietnam tomorrow.
Siem Reap: Airport is very straightfoward. Visas are sorted out quickly, via a somewhat amusing line of red tape officers. Jasmine Lodge was excellent, staff very friendly, and helpful. Mr. Kunn unfortunately was not able to give us the twin room we needed, but we were quickly sorted out with a room nearby. Tuktuk driver was at the airport, as arranged. This guy was our companion for a few days. US$13.00 per day for the immediate Angkor temple area. No need for a passport photo for your temple pass. The digital age has arrived at the ticket office. US$10.00 to take us to Tonle Sap and floating village area, and back. US$15.00 each to enter! This includes a boat ride, which lasts about an hour. Little restaurtanr near Jasmine Lodge called The Beer Tree for cheap and excellent Khmer food. Further toward town, the Green House serves excellent quality food, especially Khmer dishes, with service second to none.
Phnom Penh: Mekokg Express coach to Phnom Penh US$10.00 for the six hour trip. Last Home Guesthouse is excellent value. Huge twin airconditioned room with bathroom US$15.00. Very nice staff with abrupt owner. Very good value food here too.
Sihanoukville: Mekong Express coach to Sihanoukville US$6.00. Stayed in the very friendly Les Fuilles (lesfeuilles1@yahoo.fr) for a quiet, and out of the way stay. Good food here. Also brilliant (and cheap) Khmer food in town, at Te Lee Hong.
Pouring rain in Phnom Penh as I speak. Some streets will probably flood. No fun wading through water.
Cambodia experience, absolutely brilliant!
Hope this is of some interest.
Dave.

Thats brilliant. Thanks.
Its great to hear positive experiences from people while I am putting together the details of my own trip, just makes me wish I was going sooner than I am.

Update, its stopped raining and the floods are receding, don't cancel your trip yet.

Well done davebanfield.
I have been reading these forums for a long time now but never contributed (I know I should but hey I'm a lazy man). It is a refreshing change of pace reading your post sharing your good experience of your travels.
