Thank you for your response. I appreciate it's all cheap, but my question was where is cheapest.... I'm not fretting about a few cents, I am simply interested to know the difference.

Thank you, that's interesting to know. Don't think I'll make it to the villages this trip.

You'll probably fine Sihanoukville has the cheapest beers, if you look around they can be 50c . Phnom Penh too, however you're most likely to find them at 75c. Maybe even $1.

The big question is what alcohol and brand you are looking for and where you are drinking. There is likely to be no difference between PP and Sihanoukville as such but very big differences between places in each - why not enlighten us more about what you are looking for -

Why do you think there's a difference in price? Usually in a given country alcohol costs the same everywhere. Of course this doesn't hold for discos which set their own price. The cheapest beer in Cambodia to my knowledge is 2000 riels, and you can buy it from any Cambodian street merchant selling various drinks, just say "beer pii puan riel?" and usually they have it. In Phnom Penh the supermarkets such as Pencil have ridiculously cheap liquors, those you might not be able to find in SV simply because they don't have that store there.
