business visa on arrival?

I got a business visa on arrival at Phnom Penh recently. Procedure no different to tourist visa. Just costs $5 more ($25 vs $20). Took a matter of seconds. They will want a passport photo.

As Uomo said, it basically takes no time at all ( 5 minutes or so) and try to bring a couple of passport photo's or they charge you an extra dollar and it may take an extra 10 minutes. Actually, if passport photos in the states are the same price as in Australia, its going to be a LOT cheaper just to pay the extra dollar!

I should also mention, your initial visa is single entry and for 30 days only. After around 27 days, take your passport to any travel agent and for about $158 you get a 6 month multiple entry visa (around $290 for 12 months). This takes around 3 days. Don't panic if you "overstay" as such, the charge is only an extra $5 a day and no problem is caused ( obviously within a reasonable time. Although I know a guy who just left and had a 4 year overstay,it cost him $4000, but he is still able to reenter the country without any problem if he decides to).

Hotdigr, so you say it's no big deal to stay illegally in Cambodia, well maybe not but if you have an accident and you find out that your insurance is not valid, due to overstaying your visa, some "panic" might occur.

Strange advice!!!!

If you had read my post carefully, you would have realised the point I was trying to make was that if you are a day or two late in renewing your visa, you haven't committed an offence that would get you expelled from the country. Unlike many other countries in the world.

Cambodia extension VISA can be 1 month Cost $51 @ 3 months cost $81 and 6 months cost $161

For now getting a 12-month extension on a Cambo business visa is easy and costs less than US$300. There is little reason to overstay given how easy it is to stay long term and no, you shouldn't wait until say 27 days have elapsed on your original visa unless you have a good reason to wait that long. You can get your extension straight away on the same day you enter if you want.

I have heard that it might take longer to obtain an extension now, but probably by paying extra it's still only around 2-3 days as before, otherwise around 10.
