Any suggestion on how to travel withless hassle from Siem Reap to Bangkok?
They say that travel agents in siem reap sells air conditioned bus tickets to bangkok but in reality, these buses are one of the worst transportation used via the siem reap/bangkok route.

Well the fastest, most comfortable way is to fly of course. But if you're determined to do this overland, you can use the way I did: take a boat to Battambang, get a ride from Battambang to Poipet, cross the border into Thailand then take the train from Aranya Prathet to Bangkok. You can get a ride on a pick-up truck or bus all the way to the border, but can't really recommend that as it's very slow and uncomfortable.

#1 gives silly advice unless you either want to spend a day in Battambang or take a scenic, albeit very unreliable form of transportation that will add many hours if not another day to your trip. While it is true the road is a bit rough it certainly isn't so rough as to replacing a two-hour taxi ride (Siem Reap to Sisophon) with a five, maybe eight, maybe twelve hour boat ride plus another hour in a taxi (BBG to Sisophon).
OP, taxi Siem Reap to the border, bus from Aranyaprathet to Bangkok. Easy.

Take advice of 2# and take taxi to border for around 35$ then take bus from Aranya Prathet to Bangkok.
Getting to/from Siem Reap

#2 I can only speak from my own personal experience but I took the first boat (about 6am) from Siem Reap to Battambang. The boat ride cost $15 and only took about 4 hours (don't know where you're getting 5 to 12 hours from... I'm talking about the fast boats from Phnom Krom advertised all over Siem Reap.) I spent about an hour or two taking a look around, and had no problem whatsoever finding someone willing to give me a ride to the border (asked US$10) almost immediately. From Aranya Prathet you can take the bus if you like, it's a bit faster than the train but more expensive too, if you're not in that much of a hurry I'd go for the train, but your choice.

don't know where you're getting 5 to 12 hours from...

Because as I said, this is an extremely unreliable service and the fact you got there in four hours when just as many have needed twice, three times that to do the same trip only supports this point. I have business in Siem Reap and we see people using these "fast" boats all the time, sometimes five hours, sometimes twelve and anywhere in between. Four is an extremely fast trip and you should consider yourself quite lucky.

Taxi to Poipet (see price above), bus to Morchit Bus Terminal (207 Baht, 4- 4.5 hours).

Hi!
Why don't take the bus from Siem Reap to Bangkok, guesthouses can arrange you the trip (15$), and is not like the famous "scam bus" running in the opposite direction..
other solution, you can take a shared taxi to the border (watch out about the price!) and from the border you can take a minibus stopping in Khao San in Bangkok (300 bath) or the bus (see many posts above..)
boat trip to Battambang is scenic, i know, but i agree whit n°6, you don't know how many hours the trip will take (1 week ago i've spent 6 hours..)
