Hi there! Can anyone tell me how the beaces are in Sihanoukville. Firts priority in terms of beaches has been Thailand untol recently, where i'm having trouble in the trip scheduling. i wanted to end the trip in a beach from paradise. CAn someone advise? Would u spend more time in beaches in Thailand (which ones) or CAmbodia?

The beaches at Sihanoukville aren't particularly pretty. The better ones in Cambodia are on any of the islands off the coast of Sihanoukville or Kep.

I went from Thai beaches to Silhanoukville and it was a huge drop on any scale of quality...have to agree with hankor. If you've seen the Thai or Malaysian beaches, I really wouldn't bother unless you are going there for another reason. It was also very difficult to relax for any subsantial amount of time because the hawkers and various fruit sellers on the beach were really aggressive and won't leave people alone. Just be aware that because of the past political climate in Cambodia, they are probably still the worst off country in that region so they tend to be more aggressive with tourists as a whole (not to mean unfriendly but just difficult to get rid of!).
