The Bayon's most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and massive stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak.
When I was there enjoying the smiles, I was deeply touched by the Smiles of Ankgor. Something occurred to my mind. It seems to me that the smiles are just like lotuses from the muddy earth. The smiles have become icons of Cambodia, travelled beyond life and death, and passed on through centuries to their decedents and all others.
