hi there,

I am planning a couple of days in Siem Reap while on a visit to bkk. Looks like the most direct route is to take bangkok airways from bangkok to siem reap. I am pricing their tickets online for July 14th which is a saturday.

- is it considerabley "cheaper" to buy it from their web site vs on the day at the airport? I would prefer to have the flexibility to buy the tickets at the airport since my plans may change and it looks like they have 5 flights per day to siem reap. Currently their web price is coming to THB 11235 for a return ticket. (gives me heartburns considering how much air asia charges to PP but unfortunately do not have the time to go via PP)

- if I do buy it at the airport, how busy would it be on a saturday (thinking about the 14:50 flight)? trying to see if it worth taking a chance or just swallow and buy the ticket and lose some flexibility

- I have already read the overland to SR page on tales of asia. Considering July is the wet season, would it fair to say the roads from poipet to SR would be pretty bad?

thanks

Buy it online, it's the cheapest price you'll get. Bangkok Airways is extremely flexible about changing times/dates etc and I've often postponed flights the morning I was scheduled to fly without penalty or hassle.

No, it's not fair to say the roads will be bad. Some years the road is fine throughout wet season, some years it's a disaster.

Yes book online like 1# says.

If you have considered going overland then you must have some time available?

It is just as quick to fly to Phnom Penh with www.airasia.com (arrives around 8am) and then take the 10.30am Capitol bus from the Capitol guesthouse to Siem Reap then it is to go overland via Poipet. You will arrive at Siem Reap bus station around 3.30pm.

You could always fly back to Bangkok with Bangkok Airways.
