Arriving in Phnom Penh Oct 18 wish to go to Sen Monorom within a couple of weeks of arriving in Cambodia. Does anyone know about or have used air trips? Has anyone been out there in the last few days/weeks? What are the road conditions are they passable? Is it bucketing down with rain at the moment? Thanks in advance Dianag

No flight to Mondolkiri.
You can only travel by taxi or bus from Phnom Penh to Sen Monorom. The road is actually realy bad. Anyway, if you have time and want adventure, you will enjoy.
Sen Monorom is a really nice place to visit (Bush Ra waterfall, elephant trekking...).

i was talking to some volunteer workers (VSO) in mondulkiri in feb this year and they told me that there was a company (may have been another NGO) that was running flights out of mondulkiri to PP and Ratnakiri, but these flights aren't scheduled and its just a case of if there going and there is enough room for you its possible if you'd like to contribute towards the cost, the volunteers i talked to were working for the ministry of education, sorry i can't remember more details. i was told the flight to ratnakiri was very interesting. you could try asking at the airstrip in sen monorom.

Thanks
Trouble is you gotta get there first to check at the sen monorom airstrip. The main idea about the flying was just as an alternative if the roads are impassable. I guess what I'm really asking has anyone been out thee in the last coupla weeks and/or has it been bucketing down and made the roads impassable. Cheers
