These videos have been around for at least six months, as my brother-in-law alerted me to them back in March. They are from Global Witness.
I think anyone making their home in the Kingdom should be aware that the Cambodian government has a very serious issue with Global Witness. I wouldn't recommend making a sign and picketing the National Assembly. The videos are just a recent shot fired in their battle over deforestation.
My brother in law, who has never been in Cambodia, was all foaming at the mouth over this for awhile, too. "How could I support such corruption by spending my tourist dollars there?"
I know it's serious, but I can't see how my staying home would help.
Does the OP have a suggestion? Other than beating the internet bulletin board drums?

You Tube is blocked for Thai viewers. Could you articulate what is your point and we'll take it from there.
The way I read the OP is that most other posters here are in some way deficient because they don't care about the environment and/or are not "highly prized" residents of SE Asia. Gimme a break. Who are you to judge?

Admonishing members for not having hi speed broadband is a bit sad. I'm on dial-up unfortunately and I won't go to youtube for anyone. If you want to to upgrade my connections and pay the bills I'll watch your favourites movies till the cows come home. actually a wireless connection would be just dandy, if you could do that.....?
I missed the original post I'm afraid but here we are at this superficial self absorbed why-aren't-you-jumping-on-my-bandwagon thread. Yep, this is a travel forum so folks are mainly concerned about getting a cheap room a good meal and where to plug their iPod.
You didn't even re-post the original link, so what is this thread about? Sour grapes, spilt milk? If you're concerned about environmental issies you probably aren't such a bad egg so why the guilt trip?
