I fly into Phnom Penh on Wednesday early evening, and fly out of Siem Reap the following Tuesday evening. I will be travelling on my own. At the moment, I was thinking of spending 2 full days in PP and then fly to Siem Reap on the Saturday - spending Sat-Tues in Siem Reap.

I was wondering if it would be too much to try to fit in another destination in there such as Silkhanouville or Battambang?

I was going to fly - as I wanted to maximise my time in each place. Would I be missing out on a scenic bus ride between the 2 towns?

Hi , I have friends in Siemriep and they let me know that: can go by bus from Siemriep to Pnompenh ( for 7 hours/ about 319 km). At the moment, there is a little bit of road's repairing. It's ok to go. I also know 1 company ( absolutecambodia.com), they offer private car with good price.

Why don't you decide that when in Siem Reap? In case you get tempelt out there are other things to do in Siem Reap like take a boat tour on Tonle Sap, or you then could go to Battambang by bus and take the boat back if water levels allow.

http://www.canbypublications.com/siemreap/srtransp.htm#international this has been helpfull planing my trip, since I haven't been jet I don't know how senic the bus ride from PP to Siem Reap is, there is also the option going by boat between the two.

I was debating the same thing about going from BKK to Siem Reap by bus or fly, but decided that flying would be better, but that mainly because the border crossing.
