Hello TTer's;

Due to wanting to get budget flights. We are travelling from Perth, Australia to DPS, Bali on the 4th of December 2018, We hope to spend a couple of nights there and then head to Jakarta overland to fly out on the 8th. We do not really want to spend time in Jakarta but would like to see a little of Java and do love trains. We are willing to catch maybe 1 domestic flight but hope to incorporate some train travel and keep it as budget as possible. I am travelling with a teenager and…

Hey guys.
We are heading to Sumatra. We've been in Indonesia before, so we plan to spend our whole 30 visa on arrival time (or close) there.

We arrive in Medan from Penang. We know we would like to visit north and central Sumatra primarily.

We are looking at Ketambe, Bukit Lawang (is it overkill to do both? Are they too similar or are they both worth visiting considering we have a whole month there?), Berastagui, Lake Toba. Then we are looking at some south coast beach island, which could be…

My ugandan daughter has won a masters scholarship to study international development in the university of nottingham kuala lumpur. The new campus is some way from the city and has on campus accommodation but most of her lectures will be in their old campus building. This is in chulan tower in the heart of the city. The university provides bus travel but it is an hour each way. Can anyone help us with any details of student accommodation near the centre or websites where we might find posts. She…

Hi All,

I'll be traveling from the airport to Langkawi in October. Which is the best way to get there? I understand there's a train service (ETS) which might be a better way to good than the bus. Not booked yet, but I am flying AirAsia from Siem Reap so I'm not sure if it will land in KUL or at AirAsia's airport. If I take the train, is it easy to transfer to the train station?

After arriving at Kuala Perlis (not sure which stop though), I take the ferry over to Kuah Jetty (~hourly service)…

anybody familiar with a Lapu Lapu shipping lines run between Cebu City and Cataingan? I am reading its the only company doing a connection out of Cebu City to Masbate other than Cokaliong Shipping's once a week gig these days but I can't find anything about a schedule. Other than that I guess its a bus up to Bogo? Is there a roro bus you can ticket?

Pulau Langkawi is synonymous with sandy shores, jungle-cloaked valleys and bargain shopping. Blonde beaches are the biggest draw, but this 478.5-sq-km island has been duty free since 1987, making it a bigger delight.

I will not have much to write about the places to visit and things to do while in Langkawi since this was a very relaxed vacation for me and my husband, away from the hustle bustle of the crowded city life of Bengaluru in India, away from work stress and everything else in this…
