Don't have to worry about me walking around without a shirt on. a) don't want to blind anyone with my lily white flesh, b) don't want to attract all the men with my large manboobs.


I'm back. I'd say while it wasn't a problem wearing shorts, it does make you stand out a bit. And it's definitely worth having a nicer pair of pants for going to a midscale or upscale restaurant in the evening and a scruffier pair of pants if you plan on going into the forest or something like that. But I wore shorts every day and except in Solo, Indonesia, didn't get any truly disapproving looks. However, as I'd experienced before in SE Asia, sandals are okay just about everywhere. So a light pair of pants and sandals might be the best choice for keeping cool and looking cool. Personally, though, I don't like wearing sandals in such places, so I doubly stood out with shoes and shorts.
