Tioman Island, Nipah Beach

Hi fellow travellers,

Malaysia has been hit by one of the worst monsoons ever. Tioman, a beautiful island off the East Coast of Malaysia, is no exception of this. There is a small beach that can only be reached by boat, Nipah Beach, a truly beautiful spot far away from mass tourism and - lacking mobile phone or internet coverage - one of the last places where you can really have an authentic experience. This beach has been hit hardest by the monsoon in all of Tioman - Nipah was devastated by a flash flood. There is a call for donations to help the local people get back on their feet and maintain their livelihood as well as to replant the mangroves which are vital for the ecosystem of Nipah.
