gday, will be in PH january/feb any place to rent good seakayaks ,specialy the visayas, would lve to do snorkeling as well if possible same area....is siargo and camiguin realy rain jan/feb...... thanks somuch inadvance....
Laguna Lodge in Benoni, Camiguin let me use their kayaks in the lagoon it overlooks as a guest for free, but that might be because they are friends and I've been going there years. You might have to pay 100-200 a day or something. Be careful with this one. Some resorts with kayaks can overcharge massively. | 1
Many of the bigger resorts in Siargao have kayaks for rent, Patricks definitley do them, but as above rates can be ridiculous.. More than you will pay for a room.. | 2
I always had a pretty bad opinion of Marlin's in Sta Fe Bantayan but when they said they wanted 800 for an hour on a kayak, if I had a gun I would have probably shot all of them. I don't think they have realised exactly how bad an impression it gives. | 3
In Thailand as well, they were cool at a resort in Ko Wai where I stayed many times. The first few years when I wanted to pay for mask and snorkel or kayak, I'd pay the (modest) fee. Then one day they said forget it, you don't have to pay any more for that kind of stuff. | 4
Every day here I see a small helicopter flying overhead, just a two seater small thing, and I wonder how much these nutters are willing to pay for such an experience, but more relevantley when will it crash, because as sure as night follows day it will crash, and then I will report it.. | 5
comparing Apples and Oranges....i.e. Kayak Rent and Room Rent. | 6
These are not specialist White Water Kayaks, just normal canoes, no idea how much they cost but doubt its more than a new Honda XRM? So surely the rental costs should be similar, 300 peso a day not 800 an hour.. | 7
seakayaking/touring using an El Cheapo kayak is a big no no...you better gear up properly or you are in trouble when you are out there. If the kayak is made of "El Cheapo" fibreglass from Danao (or similar El Cheapo kayaks in the Phils.), then P400/hr is a rip-off. Otherwise, better gear up properly if you want a proper seakayaking. El Cheapo kayaks are only good if you are only no more than 100m from the beach. Otherwise, think again... | 8
Fair point, you get what you pay for.. | 9
