Is it possible to rent a motorbike for relocation purposes from labuanbajo to maumere? Or if this isn't possible, what is the most efficient way to travel around the island?

I think it's not possible, but I have never personally tried. There are numerous ways of getting around Flores: public transport, hitchhiking, hiring a car with driver, cycling...

This subject has been discussed a lot recently.
I do not see the point of renting a bike to relocate when bus and share taxi would be far better option and what are you going to do with the bike when you reach Maumere

In MAUMERE I would highly recommend the Sinar Kabor hotel situated on the other side of the bridge to the port (3 minutes walk from center of town) as a budget option (100,000 July 2015). Very friendly family and excellent breakfast
