Pinnacles or the Headhunters Trail

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Malaysia

Hi guys,

Hope you can help me,

I'll be in Sarawak this August and I have the choice between climbing the Pinnacles or hiking the Headhunters Trail. I was originally drawn to the idea of climbing the Pinnacles (and I don't think fitness would be a problem for me), but now I'm thinking the headhunters trail might be more interesting. Is climbing the Pinnacles special enough that I really shouldn't miss it? Which (in your opinion) is the more worthwhile experience, the Pinnacles or the Headhunters Trail?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I've heard that the headhunters trail is over-rated from those that have done it. Plus much of the trip on the Limbang side is on a boat through not so interesting area. Much higher kudos for the Pinnacles.

The headhunter's trail is a "walk in the park" compared to any 'real Borneo jungle trekking'. Go for the Pinnacles, that will challenge you, and it is off the beat!en track Not many people do that, and it is demanding, much more so than the headhunter's trail!

Happy Travelling,
Herman, Sabah

Hi,

I have read here that you can do both.

Btw. I am also going to Malaysia this August and I also consider doing the Headhunters Trail perhaps we could get in contact and exchange some info...

Regards.
