Hey there
I know Singapore has some very strict drug laws, and was wondering what their stance is on legal percription drugs.
I have about 20 Valium (Diazepam) on me, but didn't need a perscription to buy them. In any given country it's no big deal, but I know Singapore takes some things much more serious than other countries. Will I have any problems if they were to find them?
Also on an unrelated note.
we will be travelling through Malaysia during Chinese new Year. How do you think that will affect travel and hotel accomidations?

Now, unless you have done something suspicious, they don't arrest you willy nilly.
There has to be proof or evidence.
Eg, if your items are shown up in an xray, then you are done for, unless you can get a doctor to prove you need it.
If you are walking down the street, minding your own business in Singapore, you don't have to worry. If you do a street deal then most likely, sooner or later you get nabbed by the CNB (Central Narcotics Bureau). Meaning, someone has ratted on you.
If you don't have any proof, I do suggest not bringing so many.
Can be very busy, and some places closed.
CNY is when the Singaporeans go on their "time off" to visit friends and relatives in Malaysia. There would still be places to eat and do things, but will be busier.
First day of CNY esp, the good Chinese run hawkers stalls could be closed as the staff enjoy time with their families.
Malay or Indian run stalls/shops will still be open of course.

That's what I mean, I'll be showing up at the border with them. They're legal here and most place and I take them for a legit reason; anxiety on long bus rides etc. But I don't have a written perscription on me. They just sold them over the counter to me.
Of course I would never try to sell them, or anything strange like that. It's not the kind of thing that would make soemone high
