In need of help finding airfare.... LAX to SingaporeCountry forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Singapore
We are looking for airfare to either Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) or Singapore from Los Angeles (LAX) for May 26 through Aug. 19. We've looked at all the websites we know (Kayak, Bootsnall, Sidestep, Cheaptickets, etc) and cannot find airfare cheaper than $1000 per person. This seems a bit high still since we flew before to Southeast Asia for $600 roundtrip with China Airlines. Has airfare prices increased that dramatically that this is normal? Does anyone know of better deals online or other travel promotions? Would we be better off flying into Kuala Lumpur or Singapore (for a) cheaper fares, and b) less departure taxes)? Also, from here we would be interested in a jump flight to India (Dehli)... does anyone know of a cheap airline that does this route? Thank you all for your help and suggestions! FishRich

Late May to August is summer time in the USA. A great time to fly. Anyway try www.evaair.com or www.malaysiaairlines.com Good luck. | 2
try skyauction.com | 3 | |
The cheapest on zuji.com is with All-Nippon; but Zuji doesn't seem to have many of the budget airlines. That was $A890 (I'm in Australia, so the site shows Australian dollars for me) - about $US850 on current exchange rates. | 4
Call this guy and he can give a consolidator fare. I just got ticket for June from him inroute from LAX to Singapore. Tell Matt refered you | 5
$1000 is not a bad fair for summer. I'd imagine your $600 fair was in off season, I've been flying SFO to Southeast Asia regularly for some time, never seen a fair that cheap during high season. | 6
Actually BassMan1, the $600 fair was back in 2005 from LAX to BKK with the travel dates of May 28- Aug. 17 | 7
How about LAX-HKG on Singapore Air for $600. Then try to find a cheap flight from there on. | 8
