Hotels with late check outCountry forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Singapore
Has anyone had experience with hotels offering a late check out, please? Alternatively, a hotel which works on blocks of 6 hours would be ok. We are a group of four older travellers and need to spend from 7 pm one evening until midnight the next evening in Singapore. It would be great to be able to stay at our hotel until around at least 6 pm before travelling out to the airport for a thirteen hour flight. Thanks for your help.
Hello, The option to have a late check-out differs from hotel to hotel and country to country, so it would be best to pose the question to your hotel. Sometimes they will let you stay for a few hours for free, other places will hit you for the full room fee. | 1
When we stayed at the Excelsior, we had a late check out till 6pm. Sorry but cant remember if we only paid for half a day extra. But #1 is right in it depending on hotel. | 2
a hotel which works on blocks of 6 hours would be ok There are hotels in Geylang that operate in blocks of 1 hour. ;-) seriously though, have you considered the transit hotel at the airport? Singapore is really easy to get around in. and there is the free city tour. | 3
Yeah sometimes the timing just sucks. The usual extended hour for later check-out I have seen is 3.00pm. But midnight is quite late and getting to the airport is easy and within 30 minutes, so might as well have a room till 09.00pm-10.00pm and not worry of loitering at the airport for 4-5 hours. Go out for a nice unhurried dinner, and back to the hotel... | 4
Sounds like what you really needs is a place to put your bags. Most places will hold them for you. Or you could simply take what you need in a day bag and have the rest routed through. Perhaps the airline has early check-in and there are several spa-like lounges that for about S$30 will offer you a change for a shower, a rest/nap area, and snacks. | 5
