Help me build my list travel itineraries for my visit in the PhilippinesCountry forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Philippines
I'm building my list of Travel itineraries when I travel to Cebu this year to visit my fiance. Just added these to my bucket list! Does anyone here have tried these when you visited the Philippines? Can you share some tips and more great places to visit there? Thanks in advance!
Bohol is 2 hours from Cebu City by fast ferry. There is plenty to see & do there | 1
A major attraction in Cebu City missing from your link is Fort San Pedro, the site of the original Spanish occupation. It is only about 5 minutes walk from Magellan's Cross & the Basilica Sto Nino | 2

There is very little for the average tourist to enjoy in the way of decent tourist attractions in Cebu city. Santa Nino is NOT the most interesting religious building in Cebu province. Magellan's Cross is a 5 minute thing. The Fort is nothing. All the waterfalls are too far away for a decent day trip - Iligan has about 12 big ones within an hour. Good beaches are also three hours on a bus. The mountain scenery out of town while not too bad in patches is nothing like as good as other cities like Cagayan de Oro or Bacolod. Nightlife is overrated. The whole place just lacks any charm at all, and while in the very busiest areas the streetlife and people-watching can be quite compulsive, that doesn't make up for it being a basically unpleasant, polluted, congested, chaotic, and disorganized mess. | 4
Can you name the 12 Falls you can reach within an hour, in Iligan? | 5
Don't miss out Cagayan de Oro, which can be reached by overnight ferries and cost you the same as check-in in Hotel and you don't loose a precious day. White Water Rafting and Dahilayan Adventure Park in Bukidnon are must, when you visit here. Also the Falls in Iligan can be reached in day-trips. And if time allows, then Camiguin should be included. | 6
http://iligantoday.com/iligan-waterfalls/ the Iligan tourist people list 23 Maria Cristina FallsTinago Falls Limunsudan Falls Guimbalolan Falls Kamadahan Falls Pindarangahan Falls Gata Falls Kibalang Falls Rogongon Falls Mimbalut Falls Dalipuga Falls Dodiongan Falls Kalubihon Falls Langilanon Falls Hindang Falls Pampam Falls Languyon Falls Linanot Falls Malinao Falls Bridal Veil Falls Abaga Falls Maligang Falls Malapacan Falls some of those falls, many of which are very spectacular compared to the typical Philippines waterfall, are a way into Lanao del Norte and it might be a bit of a challenge to reach the falls themselves in only an hour out of Iligan city as sometimes you have to walk for quite a while after taking the motorbike as far as it will go. ultimately if you want to base yourself in a city where you would be able to take daytrips to waterfalls, beaches that aren't dirty, and mountain scenery etc, Cebu city would be one of the last ones to choose. In Cebu it takes an hour in traffic just to get out of the city in the first place. In Iligan you're through it in 15 minutes. | 7
Great...Thanks | 8 | |
