I've been doing some searching, and I can't find anyone that flies direct from Jakarta to Bangkok. Either there's a connecting flight through Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Most of the flights are relatively spendy, like over $150 with taxes and fees. Any suggestions? I've checked the usual suspects, like Lion, Tiger (is there a "Bear" airlines?), Air Asia, Bangkok Air, and a couple others.

Thai and Garuda fly the route direct (possibly with stops in Singapore, I forget).
But I doubt if either are under US$150 return (or do you mean one-way?).
Suggest you check with a Jakarta travel agent as Garuda is pretty hopeless for online booking.

Yeah, one way.

If you want a cheap flight, sometimes you have to put up with a bit of inconvenience.

I don't mind a bit of inconvenience. Tell me where I can get a cheap flight.
