Buses from Singapore to Malaysia & KL

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula

Hi, Can I catch a bus from Singapore to Malaysia or KL, how long does it take and the cost return to Singapore? Thanks

5.5 hours to 6 hours.

Ekspres is fastest, via PLUS Highway.

Approx SGD$40 or so.

Cheaper if you go in stages, ie, go to Johor first, then buy the tix to Kuala Lumpur from there. Or buy the ticket one way up and then, one way down. When you come down, if you pay with MYR$, its much cheaper than paying in SGD$.

Lavender St Bus Station.

Transnasional Bus

SGD$25 for the economy, SGD$47 for the executive.

Sorry about that.

There is also Plusliner company.

Go to Golden Mile and buy one way ticket to KL. I remembered to pay SGD27 for a double decker bus. quite comfortable. Around 6 hours with1/2 stops for tea/toilet.
Buy return ticket from KL and it will be around the same Ringit, I mean 27 ringit, straight way half price. Few good bus companies are Five Star, Konsortium, GR, Grasslands, Transtar.

One cheap way to get to KL is to cross the border to Johor Bahru and take a bus from there. U can save half the price.

5

Yep, I'd agree. Johor Bahru first then go from there. Buy as much in Malaysian Ringgit as you can, anything priced from Singapore will be more expensive.

I did JB to Singapore on the bog standard SBS buses a week ago and it was about 1.80 MYR from JB bus station to Singapore's Queen Street bus station.

Don't know about the other direction though.

S$1.20 on open-window bus, S$2.40 on aircon bus.
