Bali Ferries

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Indonesia

Hi all,

I am visiting Bali next month is it better to book ferries now from the UK or wait until I arrive ?
We would want to go
Padang Bai - Gilli T on 28th September
Gilli T - Lembongan 1st October
Lembongan- Sanur/ Serangan 4th October

Thanks for any advice.

There is no need to pre-book. Wait until you arrive and keep your flexibility.

1

Chill. Have a beer. Sort it when you get there. If there is a storm that day, you really don't want to go.

2

Boats don't go at all if ocean conditions are problematic, and there are a lot of boats with huge capacity. About 2,000+ people take these every day, you are best to wait until you get here.

Also the Gilis are not in Bali, they are part of Lombok province. You may not have heard yet about the big earthquake last night.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice, I’m defo going to wait, especially given the recent events.

Thoughts to all on Lombok.

Happy travels.
