Accomodation in the Gilis

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Indonesia

Does anyone think we need to book accomodation in Gili Trawangan and Gili Air for the last two weeks in August. We are looking for a budget bungalow (high end budget), something quite nice with fan, own bathroom etc- on the beach or as near to as possible and want to know whether this will be easy enough to find without booking. Also if anyone has any recommendations for nice places to stay which fit that description. Also, where's a good place to stay on Trawangan which is near enough to party but not sleeping right in the action?

Thanks a lot!

Try Marta's down a little lane by Rudy's bar. Quiet but only minutes from beach, bars and restaurants. About 200,000 Rp a night. Lovely rooms and breakfast is excellent. Popular place so phone ahead (081 2372/2777).

check Manta Dive on their web site, A bit costly but on the beach with highly professional managers. Need any help, e-mail them. They will answer all your inquiries. they could help planning your arrival and departure from the Gilies.

Last two weeks is peak season in Gili. Best to book ahead.

On Gili Air,
