5 Days 4 Nights, suggested itinerary?

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Philippines

Hi there, we are flying into and out of Cebu-Mactan and have** 5 days,** not sure what to do....any suggestions?

Heard about Malapascua, Bohol, Moalboal, Pintuyan...not sure how realistic it is to do it all or whether we should stay in one spot and do lots of day trips or stay in a couple of areas.

We are a couple without a diving licence so not sure how valuable diving trips would be for us, although my partner is interested in free diving.

For Free Diving the obvious choice would be Moalboal, you certainly dont have enough time to do all of the above, realistically only one..

Agree Moalboal does seem the obvious choice. Other contenders Malapascua, Camotes etc are just that bit further away.

I wouldn't mess about either with only 4 nights. I'd get a taxi directly from the airport, straight to the door of your accommodation. Pay no more than 2500. Just decide whether you want to stay in Panagsama, where the tourist infrastructure is or the quieter, more expensive, more remote White Beach 7km north.

Very good snorkeling at Panagsama, I just spent 2 weeks there. Lots of turtles, many reef fish and plenty of live of corals. Check out the fish sanctuary on the south side, you'll see the sign pointing at it on the way in from Moalboal town, about 500 metres to the water but that's the only sign. Likely there will be kids to point you in the right direction once near the water.

Back home in the rain now....but still great memories of our trip although it was too short this time! The Mrs loved the snorkeling, we were out almost every day! Heaps of turtles but saw no barracuda this time, I'm not sure but think the fish are smaller, lots of pressure from fisherman although in the sanctuary saw some huge shoals of fish and many bigger reef fish.
Took her over to Simalya to see the cathedral and Kawasan falls as well as the beach at Lambug near Badian a couple times. All in all, great trip, good seeing you on Bantayan again, back asap!

Staying in Bohol, particularly Panglao, allows you to make day trips to see the Chocolate Hills, do a river cruise in Loboc, check out the Tarsier Sanctuary in Corella, try out offerings at the Bee Farm or Danao Adventure Park.
