Hi everyone,

I am after a bit of advice...

In September, my husband and I are going to Singapore for the Grand Prix night race. My flight arrives on the Sat night, so don't really have any time to do anything that night.

On the Sunday, I have until around 3.30pm to do something, and the next day (the Monday) our flight out of Singapore leaves at 5:30pm, so I have most of the day then too.

Although my husband has been to Singapore a few times, I have never been. I would really like some…

If you haven't been, I just want to state that I consider the botanic garden and orchid sanctuary to be a MUST see when in Singapore. Very relaxing and beautiful flora. Take a few hours and have fun exploring it.

Here is a link with a binch of pictures (some of them quite good) of you'll see. Beautiful Singapore Botanical Gardens + Orchid Sanctuary

Be SURE to pay the 5 Sing dollars to see the part with the orchids. Well worth it!

Hi, in february I will be in Singapore for 2 or 3 days. What is the best place to buy some learning material for different HSK-levels? I'm just at HSK1 but thought that maybe Singapore could be a nice place to buy additional stuff for learning Chinese since Singapore like China uses the "short signs" of chinese writing.

Hi all,

I am doing some reasearch on where are the most popular, extoic and romantic places to propose to your partner in Singapore.

I'm lost for ideas so any thoughts and recommendations would be fantastic! We are based in Hong Kong and looking to go away on vacation and thought this would be a great time to propose.

I’m keen to find out if there are any places you have heard about, thought about, or even proposed to your partner at that you’d be happy to share.

I’m also looking for…

I have a three day layover in Singapore, starting Jan. 30th. I am looking for suggestions on where to stay, what to do. I've just completed a 25 day trek through the Himalaya, sleeping in a 4 season bag and eating dal bhat. Upscale accommodations and good food would be welcome diversions. I'm up for anything.

Thanks.

Well Singapore is famous for a few things, being a Garden State is one of them. An island right by Sing, part of its territory known as Pulau Ubin is a tropical paradise that the locals have kept without some mega resort.
i theorize as to how the people have successfully stood up to the government, as well as some photos of this island paradise.
Pulau Ubin Island + her Mosquito Army

So, if you are going to Sing, you have added resource to decide what to do. hope it helps :)

On our way to East Timor we are thinking about stopping in Batam Island for a few days but are wondering how much time to calculate on border crossings as we have young kids with us and will fly via Singapore.

Is this recommendable? We just want to swim and make the kids happy and getting used to the climate change from Oslo to Dili,

Thanks

I would like some opinions on the best place (part of town) to stay for a foodie? I've read Katong is good, but I'm also looking for nightlife in the area (no clubs, just bars). I plan on doing the Betelbox food walk and the Makunsutra tour, any other food tour/walk/event/class I should look into? I will be in Singapore for four days at the end of March after a month-long Asia trip, and I'm going strictly for the food culture, so hook it up!

If your a Singapore Native and willing to hang out…

Hi,

I live in the UK, going to Singapore at the start of February for a month. I would like to go to Melbourne for a week at the start of March before flying back to the UK.

Does anybody know if it's cheaper to wait til I get to Singapore to buy the flight to Melbourne, book it now from the UK (probably with Air Asia and about 350GBP after a quick search) or whether it doesn't really make any difference?

Any knowledge much appreciated!!
Thanks

The big new attraction in Singapore is the 5.5 billion dollar Sands Marina Bay complex, which I recently visited.
Photos of the resort, plus a write-up of gambling, and the exclusive Paisa Rooms, and what it takes to get in there.

Gambling in Singapore- Paisa Room Style

Hope you enjoy, and helps you decide whether or not you want to include Singapore as a destination. Cheers
