I tell ya, trying to wade through multiple airline websites is nerve racking.

Anyway. I neded to get to Singapore early January 2010 as cheaply as possible.

I don't mind a stopover or three, I will be carryng one suitcase and a book. (or depending on the situation, a set of golf clubs)

any ideas?

Jetstar go from Sydney to Singapore via Darwin.

Air Asia will fly from Kuala Lumpur for $27, but what about getting to KL?

Tiger go from Perth, but how do I get to Perth?

What about going via QLD or evn Saigon or somewhere?

any thoughts?

and I'm in 3 minds about my golf sticks.

It's hard to work out Jetstar's exact policy, and I think Tiger want $30.

Are there boats from darwin? trains from KL?

inquiring minds want to know.

;-)

There might be buses from the airport direct to Johor Bahru, the Malaysian city on the opposite side of the Causeway with Singapore. From there one can take one of many regular Causeway Express or STC buses to Singapore. The one trick is that you have to get out of the bus with all your luggage twice. Once when departing Malaysia to clear the immigration on that side, then back on the bus, and off again at Singapore Immigration in Woodlands. Then back on the bus.

Ask the bus drivers if they are passing by your particular hotel address on the way. There might be a stop nearby. For example the STC buses pass just to the West of Little India and the others either go to Lavender Street or the Queen Street Terminal (between Bugis Parade and Little India).

OK, thanks.

Thanks.

Still working things out.

At this stage Jetstar have the best option and they fly direct to Singapore via Darwin.

Regards the luggage, I haven't decided about my golf clubs. That will be two bags to move twice, but if I come without them, then I will only have small suicase or backpack, so should be no problem.

How about the Goldcoast (Brisbane?)- KL flight? Then another AA flight or Jetstar or Tiger to SIN?

Haven't checked so no idea if possible.

tah. yeah it works out about $26 cheaper. not worth it.

If my firm can wait a few days then i can get SIA for under $700.

At the moment, I can get Jetstar for about $670.
