Hello. I have a trip to Singapore sometime in March 2010. My return flight via Tiger Airways will be on a Monday at about 8:30 a.m. Is it possible to spend late Sunday night at the airport before the morning flight? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

It is possible and Changi has actually been voted the best airport in the world to sleep in. Check this out.

Unfortunately, Tiger operates out of Budget Terminal, and there is no facility for spending the night, apart from rows of had plastic chairs.

Most of Changi's wonderful facilities are on airside in the 3 main terminals (T1, T2 and T3) and not on landside.

However, if you have a sleeping bag with you, you may be able to make do at some of the corners of the viewing galleries of T1, T2 or T3.

Otherwise, spend the night in town and take the first train/ bus/taxi out to Changi.

Agree with #2. You should have plenty of time before check in to take the first MRT to the airport and then the shuttle. I found the wait in the areas of the non-transit areas of Changi very uncomfortable. Not much to do but hang out at McDonalds or Starbucks.

well , u can take a free shuttle bus to terminal 2 or terminal 1.
theres much more shops there. but i wonder if u can even get out of the airport.
well , if u can get out of the airport , feel free to hop on a taxi ,[beware of the 50% night surcharge]
and go enjoy the night life in clarke quay. thn back to changi for a 6hr sleep.

Gerbilly~ I think you've misread the post. OP will already be IN Singapore and departing at 8:30 AM. He wants to go the night before and sleep in a lounge. But the only lounge he can do that in is the Budget waiting lounge.

He will not be allowed into the non-Budget terminal inasmuch as he has tickets on Tiger. It flies out of the Budget Terminal. The shuttle bus is completely on the outside of the terminals although there is a shuttle train between Terminal A and B Transit lounges the poster will not be able to access it.

It's best for him to stay in town and go early the next morning.I'm not sure how much time is required by Tiger for people to be there before flights but I suspect he could leave just about anywhere in town by 6:30 and get there in time.

There is a landside hotel at the airport but it is very expensive so you would most likely be better off staying elsewhere and getting a taxi.

As others have mentioned, landside at changi airport is very uncomfortable. The night i spent there was horrible. I think they make it uncomfortable to discourage the students who use the space to study in.

Thanks a lot for all the advice. I guess I have to spend the night in town. Any suggestions for a good place in town to spend the night other than a hotel?
