Hi all - I'm travelling to Singapore this coming week. Could anyone please recommend a pleasant, relatively cheap hostel with female dorms in a central location? I´m 40+ and an experienced traveller, not looking for a party hostel but rather a quiet, friendly place with a good location and clean (shared) bathrooms. Thanks

Try matchbox the concept hostel on Ann siang road. New establishment in a beautiful neighborhood and sounds like just what you are looking for. Enjoy!

Try the YWCA,I arranged for my niece to stay there some years back enroute to UK and she said it was excellent. I assume its still there,very handy for Orchard Rd

When I was there recently, I say this hostel called Wink Hostel on mosque street, chinatown.

The street is very quiet, but yet, just one street away from the MRT station and of course, Chinatown where you can find lots of food choices and things to see and do.

i would recommend wink hostel too, as it is similar to the japan's capsule concept. it's a new building with all the necessities available.
