I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answers. Does it makes sense to have the prescription specs made in Singapore, instead of Australia and will 4 days there be enough?

If you know tripadvisor, they have forums where most experts could answer this type of discussion.

I think you will find it is not worth the trouble. Different drugs, different names. Some drugs will need a local doctor for a prescription. If you had a large amount, then it would be worth crossing the border to Malaysia. Everything is cheaper and easier there, but it will require a full day of messing around. Thailand is the place for easy, cheap medicine.

My husband got some specs in Malaysia very cheaply with a 48 hour turn around. Singapore has a higher cost of living but not as high as Australia so it might be an option.

Depends. You will save a few dollars on the specs, but hey, the flight and the hotel stay won't blow that away, will it?

Hi

Optical 88 Basement 1 of Wisma Atria shopping mall on Orchard Rd - or in Ion major chain takes 2 days for specs. The eye test is free then lenses depending on how fancy you want them (i.e. thin/scratch proof etc) about 100-300 sgd frames about the same depending on designer etc - I don't know what will cost in OZ.
