Any advice as to whether prescription glasses are cheap to buy in Singapore? Has anyone bought glasses there & was it easy enough? They are not cheap here in Ireland & I will be in Singapore for a week in July so thought it might be a good time to get my eyes tested & new glasses got.
Ditto!!
I will be in Singapore for 3 days in May. I left my Back-Up pair of glasses in a Taxi last week in Vietnam and now have only the one pair!
Not waning to hijack the thread, but is a 3 day turnaround possible for a new pair of Glasses? Not looking for anything designer (although, this is Singapore eh).
Any suggestions for a good location to buy??? I'm staying on Orchard Road & yes I have my prescription with me.
Cheers.

Its relatively cheap in Singapore compared to western countries. Malaysia is cheaper but that is not your question.
A popular mall for making glasses is the Queensway Shopping Centre at 1 Queensway
Singapore. Zip code .149053. Coordinates 1.287494,103.803694 (Google map).
It has a good concentration of opticians for those on a budget (good but not el-cheapos).
This shopping center is also very popular for its well-priced sporting goods.
cheers
Will you have any little bit of room left at all, in your $300 designer backpack for the glasses - in between your gortex coat, D-SLR (and spare battery), 6 lenses, headtorch, i-pad, i-phone, i-player, i-pod, laptop, palmtop, desktop, raspberry, mp3, mp4, mp5, digi-thermometer, solarcharger, multi-charger, bottled water, cables, kindle, e-kindle, head-amp, ultimate ears, cameraphone, macbook, flash earphones, bedside clock etc.?
Gonna be a bit cramped - surely.
