I will be arriving in Singapore (on my way to Vietnam) at about 7AM on a Saturday and leaving Monday morning, so I have 2 complete days to wander about. Can anyone recommend a decent place that would be appropriate for an OLDer backpacker? Yes, I am 59, but I have been traveling backpacker style since 1971. So, what I am looking for is a place with the backpacker heart, but maybe a bit quieter and with a private bath/toilet.
I have made a few concessions over the years and a private bathroom for those unavoidable middle of the night necessities and a fairly quiet place are my adaptations to my advanced years. Plus I can spend a few extra bucks for it too.
I have paid my dues, but I still want the backpacker life minus the bedbugs and diseases... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The Regin Hotel is a good value budget hotel only a 500metre walk from the Kallang MRT station.
or
If thats over your budget there's the Haising where u get a tiny a/c room with no window.

The Regin is by far the better of the two.

I have to stay one night in SIN- would rather pay more to have a window!

try the backpacker hostel. It is close to the Singapore river and good value for money. u just need to book well in advance. they have another branch near chinatown too.
