Hotel close to Changi Airport

its overpriced but family friendly, and overlooks the nice changi beach

the Changi Meridian Hotel is now called Changi Village Hotel. It also has a free shuttle to/from the airport. Here are other family-friendly hotels near Singapore Airport .

There is a Crowne Plaze right at the airport. The rate if you book directly with the hotel is $186 with tax/service for 2 with breakfast at least in March. You then can take the rapid transit for $1-$2 into town. I plan to do that because a taxi I am told is about $25-$28.

Changi Airport from most of the hotels downtown is pretty near by train or cab. Worst case is 30 minutes from the city. So if your flight the next is not some unearthly dawn hour, then you need not restrict yourself to hotels around the airport but can try any hotels in the city.

I live at the other side of the island and I usually allow 45 minutes by cab when going to the airport. And the city is much nearer.
