My flight leaves Singapore at 6am, can I be there the night before?
Will jetstar let me check in early so I can use the internet at the airport or lounge about?
Do I have to be already checked in to use the free internet there? And eat inside the waiting area?

Hi Marie,
Though you probably can arrive the night before to ensure you're there and prepared for the 4:00 check in, I'd caution against it. I cannot say with certainty (since I'm not aware of Jetstar's counter timings and general policies on situations like this), but my guess would be that if you arrived at about... let's say 1am, you'd probably not be able to check-in yet.
This case would mean that you would then not have a boarding pass and therefore would be restricted from entering the departure area. Being stuck in the public area isn't as comfortable as being stuck in the departure area.
There are internet stations in the departure hall where you can surf for free. Also, many of the waiting areas in the gates have internet stations too.
If you have a laptop or wifi-enabled gadget, you can surf the internet from all common areas of the airport actually. You can pick up a Wireless@SG signal and log into their system (and yes, there's even an option to do so for visitors, but I am clueless about the process though). It's free internet access without a time limit or anything so I think that's a great solution.
If you don't, however, have a laptop or wifi gadget, your second best option would be to head to terminal 2 and use the computer cluster at the McDonalds* there. It offers free internet and may be on at those hours... but I can't say for sure though. Jetstar flies out of Terminal 1, by the way.
Also, an option that covers all of these things (comfort, internet, proximity to the check in counter), there is a Crowne Plaza hotel that connects to Changi. I can say from personal experience that the hotel staff is great, the rooms are comfortable and quiet (even despite being literally right next to the runways), and the building itself has some interesting design features (if that's something that peaks your interest as well... though the fact that it'll be night time will take away some from the full effect).
I think many of the food vendors may be closed at that hour, but I can't say for sure and am hoping someone else will reply with an answer that addresses that.
Do note that the Skytrain that connects the terminals is closed for a few hours in the middle of the night (something like 1:30-5:00 or so), so you have to be careful when you're dropped off and not forget to mention that you're headed to Terminal 1 or you'll have to wait for a shuttle to take you there afterwards.
Safe and pleasant journey :).

- If you are standing with the entrance doors behind you and facing the check-in counters, allllll the way to your left will be a McDonalds.
The waiting area designated for Jetstar flights is closed and will only open when they are ready to check you in . That means around 5:30am. Departure time is 6:45 I believe. The airport is big enough however if you want tthe whole night inside. Why overnight in an airport however makes no sense to me.

I'm a late sleeper, I'm afraid if I sleep at night, I will miss my very early morning flight.

Makes perfect sense to me . 6am is very early , its what I would do , Changi airport is great for crashing out . Its not much sense checking into hotel when you have to get up so early.
